Independence Day 2012 in Midway

Midway City has several days of activities planned this year for our “Small Town Fourth”. Starting on Friday, June 29th the High Valley Arts stage production of Fiddler on the Roof starring Doug Osmond will be performed. Midway Art Association’s Plein Aire Paradise begins Saturday, June 30th and continues through July 4th with Heber & Midway “Paint Outs”. Beginning at 7:00am both Monday and Tuesday artists can be seen throughout the valley with easels up and paints in hand, participating in a one-day painting competition. An artists’ exhibit and sale will follow in the Town Hall each day from 10:00am to 8:00pm.

Join in the celebration at the Town Square Pavilion on Wednesday, July 4th. The Cannon will fire at 6:30 a.m. and a Sun Rise Service will begin at 7:00 a.m. with a special speaker and inspirational words. You will be treated to musical numbers from the Swiss Bell Ringers, the Swiss Choir, and our Swiss Miss royalty during the program as well. Immediately following the Sun Rise Service, there will be a Pioneer Breakfast served by the Young Men and Young Women from the Midway 4th Ward. They will serve you up a hot plate of eggs, ham, and pancakes. Served with milk and juice -- what's not to enjoy? The proceeds will go to support various youth activities for the year. After breakfast, enjoy "A Glance at the Past" and the Plein Aire Exhibit at the Midway Community Center from 8:00am – 6:00pm.

The fireworks show will begin at approximately 10:00pm from Memorial Hill, and can be seen from Hamlet Park, Town Square, and various places throughout Midway.
